What Is Montessori?

Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process.

Why Move Your Child To Our Montessori Centre

The curriculum is divided into four main areas.

Practical life not only gives the children the opportunity to practise the skills of everyday life but also helps them to develop concentration and develop co-ordination of mind and body.

The sensorial materials capitalise on the fact that children use their senses to learn. Through these materials they are encouraged to order and classify the physical properties of the world they live in.

The materials for mathematics help the children to learn and really understand mathematical concepts because they are presented using concrete materials.

Children are prepared to write and read from the minute they come into the class through a series of activities that gradually build all the individual skills required so that when they are ready it is just a natural progression.

Geography, history, biology, botany, zoology, art and music are covered with a hands-on approach that is based on the fact that children learn most effectively from their own experiences.

What Is The Child Care Benefit ?

Child Care Benefit is a payment from the Australian Government that helps you with the cost of your child care.

You can get CCB if you are a parent, foster parent or grandparent with a child in your care who is attending child care services approved by, or registered with, the Government.

15 Mth to 2 Yr Toddler

Van Gogh – Dedicated to 2 year olds! Montessori Toddler classrooms are foremost designed to promote independence, concentration, and a sense of order.

Our In our 2 year old program we remain focused on assisting children toward independence, social awareness, respect, and the development of motor skills and language skills.

Maria Montessori asserted that human beings develop with the greatest intensity during the first three years of life; therefore, our larger toddler classrooms are designed to provide nurturance, security, and challenge in an orderly environment.

The day begins with play in the outdoor environment, then all the children move indoors for toileting, and circle time.

Group time activities include presentations of materials and how to complete activities along with phonemic activities, movement and dance, stories, and songs.

Children then move to work with materials of their choice and do so independently, in small groups, or with a teacher who guides as necessary.

Presentations of materials. The children assist in the table setting for lunch. They serve themselves and clean up after themselves.

Grace, courtesy, and table manners are modelled and encouraged by teachers. Parents provide us with fresh fruit everyday while the service provides lunch.

A pitcher of fresh water and cups are available at mealur Monet room, there is not an excess of decoration or hanging objects, as these only serve as a distraction.

There are a variety of activities that interest and challenge children.

The teachers carefully and frequently observe the children in order to decide when materials need to be removed, replaced, or extended upon.

Montessori Work
Montessori Benefits

One of the greatest benefits of the Montessori Method, particularly during the early learning experience, is the focus on hands-on learning.

Most of the learning activities are individualized: i.e., each child engages in a learning task that particularly appeals to him or her…because they find the activities geared to there needs and level of readiness.

Consequently, the child works at his or her own rate, repeating the task as often as he likes, thus experiencing a series of successful achievement. In this manner, they build a positive attitude toward learning itself.By surrounding the child with appealing materials and learning activities geared to his inner needs, he becomes accustomed to engaging in activities on his own.

Gradually, this results in a habit of initiative – an essential quality in leadership. “Ground rules” call for completing a task once begun and gradually results in a habit of persistence and perseverance for replacing materials after the task is accomplished.
